Important Notice When Purchasing "A", "B", "C" Category Firearms and Parts
A firearms licence is required to purchase firearms, firearms parts, and ammunition. If you wish to purchase “A” category firearms, please download the Police Mail Order Firearm Form below. The completed form, signed or stamped by NZ Police, needs to be provided to PYD Arms before we will ship any “A” category firearm.
To purchase restricted firearm part(s), you must first have the appropriate endorsement on your firearms licence, and in some cases you must obtain a Permit to Procure from your local area Arms Officer. No restricted firearm part(s) will be shipped until we have been supplied with the appropriate paperwork as/if required.

Note: a completed NZ Police “Permit to Procure” (POL 67C) is required for all handgun and restricted purchases. We must have all three copies (Original, Applicant, and Seller) prior to shipping. The Type 56-1 in 7.62x39mm is one of the most iconic, globally recognized military small arms of the Cold War era. Developed as the specialized airborne and mechanized infantry variant of the Chinese Type 56 family, the 56-1 replaces the traditional fixed wooden buttstock with a heavy-duty, steel under-folding stock. This design allows the rifle to collapse into a remarkably compact profile for vehicle transport and close-quarters maneuver's while retaining the indestructible reliability of the AK platform.
